The Yocan Uni Pro is a box mod battery for 510-thread oil cartridges. Its chamber adjusts in height and width, so it holds most carts snugly instead of leaving them exposed on top. The Uni Pro is the battery only: no cartridge comes in the box.
Lost the paper insert, or seeing a message on the screen you don't recognize? This guide covers it all: the button codes, setup, getting your cart to fit, voltage and preheat, and what every screen message means and how to fix it.

Section 01 · Setup
How to Use the Uni Pro, Step by Step
- Charge it first. Plug in the included cable and charge fully before first use. A full charge takes about 2 hours.
- Attach the magnetic adapter. Screw the magnetic 510 adapter onto the bottom of your cartridge until you feel light resistance. Don't overtighten it: that can push the cart's center pin in and cause connection errors.
- Load the cart. Slide the cart and adapter into the chamber until the magnet snaps into place.
- Fit it. Adjust the height and width so the cart sits snug (see Fitting Your Cart).
- Turn it on and draw. Press the power button 5 times quickly. Set your voltage, then press and hold the power button while you draw.
Section 02 · Fit
Fitting Your Cart
The adjustable chamber is what sets the Uni Pro apart. Two controls lock your cart in place so it doesn't rattle:
- Height: push the height adjust button up or down until the cart's mouthpiece sits where you want it above the top of the device.
- Width: turn the diameter adjustment dial until the chamber closes around the cart and it no longer moves. Make sure the cart is locked in position before you use it.
What Carts Fit the Uni Pro?
- Any 510-thread oil cart 7mm to 14mm wide
- Over 42mm long
- Over 0.5 ohm resistance
Section 03 · Adapter
The Magnetic Adapter
Your cart doesn't screw into the Uni Pro directly. It screws onto the included magnetic 510 adapter, and the adapter snaps into the bottom of the chamber.
- Keep it clean. Oil or lint on the adapter or inside the chamber can block the connection. Wipe the adapter and the contact point at the bottom of the chamber with a dry paper towel.
Don't throw it out with the cart. Unscrew the adapter from an empty cart before you toss it. Only one adapter comes in the box.
Section 04 · Voltage
Voltage and Preheat
The Uni Pro runs from 2.0V to 4.2V in 0.1V steps. Use the left (−) and right (+) buttons under the screen to change it.
- Lower voltage: gentler heat, better flavour, easier on thick oils.
- Higher voltage: bigger, warmer hits, but too high on thick oil can taste burnt.
Start low and work up until the hit feels right.
How to Use Preheat
- Press the power button 2 times quickly.
- A white light comes on and the screen counts down 10 seconds while the cart warms.
- It stops on its own, or press the power button 2 more times to stop early.
Preheat helps when your oil is thick or cold and won't draw.
Section 05 · Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting: Screen Messages and Fixes
When the Uni Pro won't hit, check the screen. Each message points to a different cause.
| Message | What it means | Quick fix |
|---|---|---|
| SHORTED | Short circuit, or a cart under 0.5 ohm | Clean and reseat the cart and adapter, or try another cart |
| NO ATOMIZER | No cart detected | Reseat the cart until the magnet snaps in |
| OVER TIME | Button held over 15 seconds | Let go, then press again |
| LOW BATTERY | Battery needs charging | Charge with the Micro USB cable |
SHORTED
What it means: the battery detected a short circuit, or the cart's resistance is under the Uni Pro's 0.5 ohm minimum.
How to fix it:
- Take the cart out and check the connection between the cart and the magnetic adapter.
- Wipe both contact points clean, then screw the adapter back on snug but not tight.
- Still shorted? Try a different cart. If the new cart works, the problem is the old cart.
- Wax atomizers can also trigger a short warning on Yocan batteries.
NO ATOMIZER
What it means: the battery can't detect a cart.
How to fix it:
- Pull the cart out, then reseat the adapter and the cart until the magnet snaps in.
- Clean the adapter and the contact point in the chamber.
- Try a different cart, and make sure the battery is charged.
OVER TIME
What it means: you held the power button for more than 15 seconds, so the safety cut-off stopped the battery.
How to fix it: let go of the button, then press it again for your next draw.
LOW BATTERY
What it means: the battery needs charging.
How to fix it: plug it in with the Micro USB cable and let it charge before using it again.
Blinking or Flashing
What it means: usually a poor connection between the cart's center pin and the magnetic adapter.
How to fix it: check every connection and reload the cart. If you screwed the adapter on tightly, loosen it a little so the pin can make proper contact. Still blinking? Try another cart.
Not Charging
How to fix it: check the charging port for dust or lint, try the included cable, and try a different wall adapter.
Section 06 · Care
Care and Battery Tips
- Don't overcharge. Leaving it plugged in long after it's full shortens battery life.
- Don't charge it in a car, and don't use it while it's charging.
- If it gets too hot, stop and let it cool down before using it again.
- Keep the contacts clean. Wipe the body, the adapter and the chamber contact with a dry paper towel.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the Uni Pro, Uni Pro 2.0, Uni 3.0 and Uni Pro Plus?
They're all part of Yocan's Uni line, with different features from model to model. This guide covers the original Yocan Uni Pro. If you have a different model, check the name on your box and use that model's manual. The TRIBAL Uni Pro ARK is a different battery from another brand, with its own specs: a zinc alloy body, 1.8V to 4.2V, and three magnetic adapters in the box.
Yocan Kodo Pro or Uni Pro: which should I get?
It comes down to size and how the cart sits. The Kodo Pro is a small, pocket-sized battery with a 400mAh battery, and the cart screws directly onto it. The Uni Pro is bigger, with a 650mAh battery and an adjustable chamber that holds carts from 7mm to 14mm wide inside the device. For the Kodo Pro's controls, see our Yocan Kodo Pro manual.
What carts fit the Yocan Uni Pro?
Most 510-thread oil carts. The cart needs to be 7mm to 14mm wide, over 42mm long, and over 0.5 ohm.
Where can I find the official Yocan Uni Pro manual?
This guide covers everything in the paper manual. You can also see the original on Yocan's Uni Pro manual page.
How long does a Yocan Uni Pro charge last?
It has a 650mAh battery and takes about 2 hours to charge fully. Yocan doesn't list a run time, because it depends on your voltage, how long you draw, and how often you use preheat.
What does SHORTED mean on a Yocan Uni Pro?
It means the battery detected a short circuit, or a cart under 0.5 ohm. Clean and reseat the cart and adapter without overtightening, or try a different cart. Full steps are in the troubleshooting section.
