Using the PAX Plus is simple and intuitive, designed to give you a perfect session every time. Here's a quick guide to get started:

Step 1: Charge Your Device
Before your first use, make sure your PAX Plus is fully charged. Attach the magnetic charging dock to the back of the device and connect it to a USB power source. The LED petals will light up to show the battery level.

Step 2: Prepare and Pack Your Material
The PAX Plus works with both dry herb and solid concentrates.

• For Dry Herb: Finely grind your herb. Remove the magnetic oven lid at the bottom of the device, and pack the herb firmly into the oven. For smaller sessions, use the included Half-Pack Oven Lid.
• For Concentrates: Place your concentrate into the Concentrate Insert, and then place the insert into the oven.

Step 3: Power On and Select Your Mode
Press down gently on the center of the mouthpiece to turn the device on. The PAX Plus has four built-in "Experience Modes." To cycle through them, press and hold the mouthpiece button for about two seconds, then short press to select your mode:

• Stealth (One Petal): Minimal vapor, LEDs are dimmed.
• Efficiency (Two Petals): Gets the most out of your material.
• Flavor (Three Petals): Prioritizes taste and aroma.
• Boost (Four Petals): For maximum vapor production.

Step 4: Heat Up and Enjoy
Once you select a mode, the device will begin to heat up automatically, which takes about 20-30 seconds. The LED petals will pulse purple during heating and will turn solid green when it's ready to use. Simply bring the mouthpiece to your lips and take a gentle sip.

Step 5: Power Down and Clean
To turn the device off, press the mouthpiece once. To keep your PAX Plus performing at its best, it's important to clean it regularly. Use the included wire brush to clear out the oven and vapor path after it has cooled down.

For the best performance with a PAX vaporizer, you should aim for a medium-fine grind.

The ideal consistency is similar to coarse sand or drip coffee grounds—not a fine, dusty powder, but definitely not chunky.

PAX vaporizers use conduction heating, meaning the oven walls heat your herb directly. A medium-fine grind increases the surface area of the herb that touches the hot oven, which leads to:

What happens if the grind is wrong?

• Too Coarse (chunky): If the grind is too loose, there will be air pockets in the oven. The herb won't heat evenly, resulting in thin vapor and wasted material.
• Too Fine (like powder): If you grind it into a dust, the material can become too dense. This can restrict airflow, making it difficult to draw, and tiny particles can pull through the screen and clog the vapor path.

Pro-Tip for the Perfect Grind:
Use a quality grinder. For a finer consistency, turn your grinder upside down for a few extra turns before letting the herb fall into the collection chamber. After grinding, pack the oven firmly, but not so tight that you block airflow.

Step-by-Step Cleaning Guide:

Step 1: Disassemble Your PAX
First, ensure your device is off and completely cool.

• Remove the magnetic oven lid (bottom).
• Remove the mouthpiece (top).
• Using a thin tool, carefully pop the metal screen out from the bottom of the oven.

Step 2: Clear the Vapor Path
This step is essential for maintaining smooth airflow.

• Dip the included wire brush or a pipe cleaner in isopropyl alcohol.
• Push the moistened brush all the way through the vapor path, starting from the mouthpiece end.
• Repeat until the brush comes out clean.

Step 3: Clean the Oven and Components
This is where the official PAX Cleaning Swabs excel.

• Oven: First, use the sturdy wooden tip of a PAX Cleaning Swab to gently scrape and dislodge any stubborn buildup from the oven walls. Then, dip the gentle cotton swab tip in isopropyl alcohol and thoroughly scrub the inside of the oven until it’s spotless.
• Screen & Mouthpiece: Place the metal screen and mouthpiece into a small bowl of isopropyl alcohol and let them soak for about 20 minutes. Afterwards, wipe them clean.
• Oven Lid: Use the cotton tip of a cleaning swab with alcohol to wipe the inside of the magnetic oven lid.

Step 4: Dry and Reassemble
Crucially, ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling your PAX to avoid heating any residual alcohol. Once dry, pop the screen back in, and attach the mouthpiece and oven lid.
